Culinary Brunch Cook-off

Cooking at the stove

Culinary Occupations is a CareerTEC Culinary Arts Program  for juniors and seniors in highschool, with a focus on practical skills that have real-world application. The world of culinary arts is a vast arena with many varying career options. This class provides students with the general knowledge and skills they will need in order to thrive in the food service industry.
Culinary Occupations is an intensive educational program with a focus on hands-on participation. The majority of class time is spent in the kitchen, including demonstrations, team projects, and individual cooking.

Chef Steve Konefes
On Feb. 11th, 2014 the students, working in pairs, prepared two brunch items that were judged by the CareerTEC and Northwest SpecialEd office staff and parents/guardians of students.

Chef Steve Konefes was overlooking the preparations and serving by the students.

The students did a spectacular job working together in preparing, serving and cleanup for the cook-off. We are very proud of all of them!
