In the month of November, Culinary Arts students learned how to prepare sauces, soups, and starch dishes. In December, students will learn how to cook with spices, herbs, and potatoes, as well as how to bake with yeast. Spice recipes include Indian curry, tacos with homemade tortillas, and Chinese five spice. Herb recipes include chimichurri, tomato basil bisque, and Italian flatbread. Potato recipes include twice baked potatoes, gnocchi, and pierogies. Yeast recipes include cinnamon rolls, homemade pizza, and khachapuri. In the beginning of December, students held an appetizer cooking competition. The students performed very well and the judges were able to enjoy many delicious dishes! The winners from each class were:
